Roofing Inspection Process
During an initial roof inspection, our experts discovered a few concerns to address. Water damaged the interior of the attic ceiling, and we knew we needed to replace the older shingles. The chimney was also collapsing, and this led to an increased risk of interior water damage.
After the inspection, our project supervisor Bob planned out the roof repair for the customer. Due to the extent of the damage, the best course of action would be to completely remove the roof down to the decking. Afterwards, our expert team of roofing contractors would need to install new shingles. In addition to this, our team would need to add bracing to the chimney to prevent future collapsing and secure it in place.
Roof Removal
The customer wanted to deal with these problems quickly, so the work began right away. Our team laid out protective tarp to ensure that none of the old shingles would damage the house. Then, they tore off old shingles, which revealed the hardwood decking underneath. This process was done with great care to ensure that no further damage occurred.
Complete Installation
Next, our team began repairing any water damage and mold. This involved replacing some of the damaged decking. Any wood on the roof that had rot or mold was torn off and replaced with fresh, sturdy wood.
They also installed six feet of an ice and water shield directly on the roof deck. This provides a secondary layer of protection from the elements, including rain, snow, and wind.
